Washington State Recognizes Composite Solutions for Community Service
March 27, 2012 — Composite Solutions was presented with a Certificate of Commendation for the company’s community service to the people of Washington State. On Tuesday, Secretary of State Sam Reed visited Composite Solutions for a facility tour, to meet management staff, and to present the certificate to the company.
The Washington State Corporations for Communities program was launched in 2009 by the Secretary of State as a way to recognize exceptional Washington businesses that demonstrate a commitment to giving in order to improve local or regional social and environmental conditions. Composite Solutions was honored with this award in its inaugural year.
“This is an opportunity to encourage standout corporations that are choosing to make their community a priority,” said Reed a few months ago during the nomination process. “Particularly in these tough economic times, it’s important to cheer on businesses that are going above and beyond to make a difference in Washington.”
Composite Solutions employees have always held a strong commitment to giving back to the local community. The company allows paid time off for all employees to volunteer for their favorite community services. In the years 2009 through 2011, 100% of employees volunteered at food banks, youth programs, and more. It is a great honor to receive this recognition from Secretary of State Sam Reed and the State of Washington.
